'Louise Ryan' originated at Walters Gardens and was registered by C. H. Falstad in 1993. It is a sport of 'Ryan's Big One' and grows 32" wide and 26" high. Intensely blue green with a 2" medium green margin that is most apparent in spring, the 12" x 7.75" leaf is broadly ovate with a cordate base, smooth and moderately corrugated. It has a glaucous bloom above and underneath and 15-17 pairs of moderately prominent veins. The near white, tubular flowers bloom on 26' long scapes from late June to early July in Michigan.
