Someone asked me about transplanting and hardening off hostas.

I transplant them when they get crowded, maybe put 5 in a quart pot when they are a little larger than a couple of leaves. I grow them on this way until I need to move them up to one in a pot, this is inside under the lights or outside as well.

Just keep them moist and in the shade when moved outside and at first protect them from the wind. Hostas are one of the easier plants to harden off, as long as you don't sunburn them. Also watch for slugs, they can wipe out a bunch of plants overnight when the plants are small.

This is a space for anyone who sells hosta seed, just send me your info, links, email address, etc.
